Est. 2017, Temple Tattoo are a studio collective that specializes in high-quality tattooing and piercing in Chengdu and Shanghai.
Your body is a temple, and we are serious about our craft. Tattooing is a unique expression of who we are — that’s why every Temple experience is a lovingly curated journey from sketch to skin.
With years of expertise in a variety of New School and Old School styles, East Asian art, blackwork, lettering, geometry, portraiture, abstraction, flashes and more — Temple have got you covered.
Our famously friendly atmosphere and bilingual staff have made us a favorite with the foreign and creative community in both Chengdu and Shanghai, as we constantly strive to evolve our art.

We are located in a modern, custom-fit loft studio in Manhattan 2, Tongzilin, Chengdu. With private needle rooms, open-plan design space and a pet-friendly lounge and courtyard, our cozy rooftop is the source of inspiration for your next tattoo or piercing!
For Shanghai bookings, our location is S.INK Tattoo, Fahuazhen Road, Changning District. Tattoo only.

WHAT WE DO

We believe in providing a holistic experience based on mutual trust and respect. Whether it’s your first tattoo or latest piece, Temple founder Li Manman and her passionate team of skilled artists are here to guide you.

1) Free Consultation

Tattoos are permanent and personal — we offer free, no-strings consultations and price quotes to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the entire process.

Whether you’ve got a specific design or are seeking fresh inspiration, we are happy to answer any questions and offer expert advice — contact us to start fleshing out your ideas!

2) Deposit and Booking

Once you’ve decided what you want, we will arrange a deposit for the design. Bookings are flexible — our Chengdu studio is open 6 days a week from 1pm, while our team regularly travels for residencies at our partnership studio S.INK in Shanghai.

3) Design

Manman will connect you with one of our skilled artists, who will create your custom design with the elements and specifications you desire. We will do a skin transfer to help make any adjustments to details, size, color and placement and find what looks best on your body.

4) Getting your tattoo

Prepare your mind and body for the big day — eat well, rest well, then lay back and enjoy. We offer clean, comfortable and discreet service, so you can relax under the needle and feel confident during the process.

5) Aftercare

Congratulations — that’s a wrap! We have special gift bags with everything you need for a healthy heal, including skin cream and info on how to clean and protect your new tattoo.

Every tattoo and piercing is eligible for Temple Points (1000RMB = 1000 Temple Points), which can be redeemed for special treats from our Temple Box — including monthly flashes, merch, discounts and vouchers with our partners.
